Lake Creek Preserve Guided Hike

Looking for a way to explore nature, see ecosystems in action, and have fun? Join Bayou Land Conservancy at Lake Creek Preserve for a family-friendly nature hike! 


This is a monthly guided hike through Lake Creek Preserve, where we will explore various ecosystems and terrain. This is a moderately easy ~1 mile loop, which traverses through sand, mud (when wet) and over a few boardwalks.

No dogs allowed. Close-toed shoes and ample drinking water required.

  • Date: 3rd Saturday of the Month in September-May

  • Time: Start time varies by season

  • Location: Lake Creek Preserve is located off Sendera Ranch, south of Woodforest Pkway S. Coordinates: 30.263180790609386, -95.5652751411581

  • Required Supplies: Water (at least 48 oz), close-toed shoes, long sleeve pants and shirt

  • Recommended: A bag for your water, snacks, etc. Insect repellent/sun protection

Forest Therapy

Join us on Sunday, November 3 from 10:00a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for a Nature Forest Therapy Walk at Montgomery County Preserve led by Diana Markuson. â€‹â€‹

Join Diana in the forest to experience slowing down, opening our senses, staying present and connecting with nature on a deeper level. The short walk includes a meditation to open our senses, invitations offered to deepen our relationship with nature, sharing circles and tea served made from a plant growing on the trail.

  • Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • Location: Montgomery County Preserve 

Required Supplies: Water (at least 48 oz), close-toed shoes, long sleeve pants and shirt

Creekside Guided Hike

Join Bayou Land Conservancy board member Amanda Van Dusen for a guided hike at our Creekside Trailhead on Saturday, November 23rd!

 

This hike will be along a natural surface trail, which wanders around several ponds. We recommend bringing your binoculars and/or camera!​​​​

  • Date: Saturday, November 23, 2024

  • Time: 9:00 am - 10:30 am

  • Location: Creekside Trailhead, at the end of Dr. Ann Snyder Drive​

Required Supplies: Water (at least 48 oz), close-toed shoes, long sleeve pants and shirt

Recommended: A bag for your water, snacks, etc. Insect repellent/sun protection

NO restroom or water on site.
